During their weekly jaunt to the library, a man and his son encounter a very odd-looking, elderly, gentleman at the library who looks and talks as if he were hundreds of years old. Then, once introductions are made, the elderly gentleman tells the man and his son a very gripping and realistic story about the lives of some big cats in Africa which according to him, takes place at the beginning of time, more or less, and he tells it as if he actually witnessed the happenings personally. Then, without warning, in the middle of telling the story, the elderly gentleman abruptly gets up and leaves without finishing his tale. What happens, next? Well, that's called the rest of the story. It is a very entertaining and gripping story suitable for reading to your children or just for your own momentary get away from reality.

Whatever you do in life, at this moment, be like a cat and let your curiosity get the best of you.

Then suddenly he remembered once before when he had gotten angry at Lee-Ness. That particular time, he had become a little too arrogant, and as a result, Lee-Ness slapped his jaws so hard, his ears had rung for days.  He had not forgotten that lesson, so he quickly changed his mind, as he was not about to make the same mistake again. Besides, he reeeeaally did need a drink of water and really, really bad, as in right then!

Kin-Gee, completely confused, almost yelled, "Babies!! What babies?"

"Our babies", Lee-Ness answered as she lowered her body, and with great care proceeded to disappear into a place unseen beneath the log on which Kin-Gee was standing.

At that very moment, on the same side of the clearing, just inside the edge of the tall grass, a large number of very strange and fierce-looking creatures were moving stealthily toward the clearing where the two kittens lay sleeping. There was no sound from grass being carefully parted by their sleek bodies or lightly crushed by their fully padded feet that could be heard. The large group of fierce-looking beasts moved silently, ever closer. It would have been evident to any onlooker who viewed the scene that a fierce, deadly, possibly even fatal attack was imminent!
